Soul Album Cover

Adobe, Disney, and Pixar teamed up for the Adobe Art and Soul design challenge where contestants were prompted to design an album cover for the movie Soul, highlighting what makes you, you, using Adobe programs and digital artwork from the movie. The piano key path, background image, and logo were a few of the pre-designed movie elements provided by the challenge sponsors, the rest I created myself. This illustrated piece is my contest submission.

If you haven’t seen Soul yet, I recommend it. I love the idea that we connect with our souls when we’re “in the zone” and for me, when I’m in the zone it’s usually when I’m illustrating. The movie soundtrack is thoughtful and dynamic, and sounds like it was created by folks who were in their zones, too, so I wanted to illustrate a moment of the main character, Joe, in his.
